Thursday morning, which was my first day of school, I got up at the insane hour of 5:00am. I poured myself a bowl of Cheerios, opened the fridge, and realized I was out of milk. While living in France, I became quite used to buying milk (skim and organic, merci) in bulk and keeping it in the cabinet. This may seem odd to most Americans, but France has a way of hyper-pasteurizing the milk so that an unopened bottle can last - un-refrigerated - for weeks. Having a few liters on standby came in quite handy, usually half-way through filling my cereal bowl.So now, I have to get used to stopping by Braum's on my way home from work, as I finally remembered to do Friday afternoon. Of course, that means I must pass in front of the ice cream counter to see if they have the infamous lime sherbet... which as luck would have it wasn't in the case.
I was lucky on Thursday when I had a bottle of Bolthouse Farms Vanilla Chai in the fridge (thanks, Mom!). While not exactly milk, I may have discovered a new way to enjoy my cereal.

That hyperpastuerized milk very convenient. Does it taste different than "normal" milk?
I enjoy my cranberry nut crunch with vanilla yogurt, myself!
