I know it's been a while since I have blogged. My excuses include no time, no energy and nothing to write about. The last part isn't really true, but surely the boring details of my day-to-day aren't that compelling. I have been wanting to write about what teachers have to do to change jobs, but I'm still gathering information.
I'm writing today to tell you all, my faithful readers, that you are going to have to be patient. The blog is on hold for a bit; first, because I'm leaving on vacation for a week and wasn't planning on taking my computer. Whether or not to take it isn't even an issue anymore, as it died this morning. I'm currently in my nearly-abandoned school building (remember, no classes on Wednesday afternoons) trying to figure out how to resolve the problem. I've followed all the online advice with no success. I wrote Nathalie to ask if she could send my system disks I stupidly left in Oklahoma, only to learn she had the same problem last week. A trip to the Apple Store and a new hard drive solved her problem. Great. Good thing I've backed up most of my pictures and iTunes library, right? I have found a certified Apple repair place in Amiens, it looks like I have to work that in my schedule in between teaching, packing for Ireland and hanging out with friends.
So, along with my impressions of Dublin, the upcoming nature & bird festival in Abbeville and my trip to Brest, you can look forward to an entry about how to get your computer repaired in France.

Surely the Olympic Torch has given you blog fodder, no?
