I only got one address while I was at the US Ambassador's, but it's an interesting story. Amy, who works at the Franco-American Commission, wanted to introduce me to a man who just received a research grant to go to OSU and study the behavior of honeybees. After assuring him that he'll be welcomed in Oklahoma, we discovered that not only does he work at the University of Picardie, but that he lives about 10km from Poix. He wasn't aware of the MOU between Amiens and Oklahoma, and when I explained everything as briefly as I could, he said, "Well, this changes everything!"
I quickly sent an e-mail to Chantal and Desa to share the news that our Amiens-Oklahoma connections are growing without us even trying. Desa sent a nice message to Michel to welcome him, and he wrote me that her kindness has really assured him that he's going to like Oklahoma.
In another coincidence, the Fulbright de Toqueville scholar this year is a professor from the University of Oklahoma. Amy introduced me to him as well, and was excited to have three people with Oklahoma connections all in one place.
