feeling empowered
All of my feelings of helplessness from earlier this week have been washed away. This morning, I hopped in the R21 and drove to Charles DeGaulle airport to meet my Mom and Mickey. I'd had several suggestions from people at school on the best way to get to the airport, so I felt rather confident, but I was still a little nervous about the autoroutes. I'd never driven on one before (how fast is 130km per hour, anyway?). I am so proud of myself - I made it to CDG on time, with absolutely no problems. Well, maybe a speeding ticket...we'll see if one arrives in the mail at Chantal & Jacques' house. The radars are evil! Still, I feel like I can do anything.

Mickey was intent on seeing the hortillonages today, for fear of rain tomorrow. Then, back to Poix, where I showed off my cooking skills with my special chicken & mushrooms with rice, followed by homemade applesauce. I'm amazed that they were able to stay awake until 10pm. And lucky for all of us, it's daylight savings time, so we get an extra hour of sleep tonight.
